Last year barely half of the school budgets passed in NJ and Warren County. Hereonly two of our seven districts failed to pass their budgets; both after two years of successful attempts. So we need to remain steadfast in our resolve to pass local school budgets; especially since we know, better than most, the consequences of not passing them. Defeated school budgets result in a loss of programs for students and jobs for staff.

If every one of the over 700 NJEA members living in the Phillipsburg area, along with their families and friends, vote in favor of the local school budgets on April 17, every budget will pass again. If you are not certain where to vote, polling locations, addresses and times can be found on the back of this letter. Results of the votes will be available on Wednesday, April 18, at http://www.pburgea.org.

Respectfully,

Charles Nowalk, chairperson
PEA ad hoc School Budgets Committee
